To my husband

“Fifty thousand years before the sky was introduced to the sea, Allah wrote down your name next to me.”

To my husband, Fawad,

I write these words with an intense earnestness to express my unconditional and utmost gratitude for the love that you have shown me. I write this letter to thank you for your generosity, your perpetual kindness and your continual devotion to this marriage.

To my husband, Fawad,

I thank you for the light that you shine through the darkest of my days. In times of hardship and adversity, it is in you that I find hope. When my soul is tired and broken from the turmoil of this dunyah, I thank you for your compassion and your gentle nature. I thank you for your unceasing patience. I thank you for being my shelter, for being my solace and my peace.

To my husband, Fawad,

I thank you for your faith in me, for your endless words of encouragement and for the reassurance that you provide me when I doubt my own strengths and capabilities. I thank you for never allowing me to abandon my dreams, and for encouraging me to pursue anything and everything that I desire from this life. I am grateful to you for the manner in which you protect my dreams as if they were your own, with all that you have. I am in awe of you. I am in awe of the selfless manner in which you prioritize the dreams of others before that of your very own aspirations. For this, I am thankful, I am thankful for your kind-hearted soul and humble nature.

To my husband Fawad,

I thank you for your companionship, and for the laughter and joy which you have brought into my life. I thank you for your honesty, your integrity and for the respect that you show me. I thank you for sharing all that you have with me, all of your fears, and all of your insecurities. I thank you for all of the scars that you have shared with me, all of the scars that have subsequently left a mark on your soul and on your heart. I am thankful for the man that you are, and the manner in which you carry the burdens of this world on your shoulders, alone, in order to protect me from discomfort and unease.

To my husband, Fawad,

I am forever grateful and eternally indebted to you.

To my husband, Fawad,

Thank you for loving me with all that you have.
