Electronic aftermath

Share this article:

They never tell you about the electronic aftermath.

The Facebook profile, with her comments, her likes, her shares

The text messages and WhatsApps,

the last call,

the last email

All little waves from beyond the veil

All reminders that you typed those words in Arabic,

where I was your Habibti,

your beautiful daughter,

Your smart daughter

The daughter you were proud of.

They never tell you about the electronic aftermath.

How its electricity transmits through the tips of your fingers

Travelling through nerves

Causing muscles to contract

Hearts to skip

Leaving minds momentarily blank in the shock of

In the shock of

In the shock of

These little waves from beyond the veil.
